Amid a wider slump, MINING.COM’s ranking was lit up by newcomer Amman Minerals, which now sits just outside the top 10 after minting at least six new billionaires since its July IPO.

The Canadian diamond miner cited a “material breach of financial commitments” by the Belgian manufacturer as the reason for the split.

The discovery may help replace the now closed Argyle mine as a source of the world’s biggest and high-quality pink diamonds.
