The 2025 Golden Globes were handed out Sunday night.
Emilia Pérez was named best motion picture — musical or comedy and best non-English language film, while Zoe Saldaña took home the best supporting actress award for her performance. The movie’s song “El Mal” won best original song.
Meanwhile, The Brutalist was named best motion picture — drama. Brady Corbet also was named best director for the latter, while his star Adrien Brody was named best actor in a drama.
Flow won best animated film. Wicked won the award for cinematic and box office achievement.
Shogun was named best drama series, with Anna Sawai, Hiroyuki Sanada and Tadanobu Asano winning for their performances in the show.
Hacks was named best TV series — musical or comedy, with Jean Smart taking an award for her performance. Baby Reindeer was the winner in the category of best limited series, anthology series or movie made for TV, while Jessica Gunning won an award for her performance.
Fernanda Torres, Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Allen White, Colin Farrell, Sebastian Stan, Demi Moore and Jodie Foster also were among the individual winners. Ali Wong won the award for best stand-up performance on TV.
Elsewhere, Peter Straughan won best film screenplay for Conclave, while Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross won best original score for Challengers.
Nikki Glaser hosted the ceremony, at which awards in 27 categories across film and TV were handed out. (See the red carpet arrivals.)
On Friday night, Viola Davis was presented with the the Cecil B. DeMille Award and Ted Danson accepted the Carol Burnett Award at the Golden Globes’ inaugural Golden Gala. Those two awards have previously been presented during the live broadcast but this year were presented in a special ceremony attended by stars including Jane Fonda, Meryl Streep, Mary Steenburgen, Carol Burnett, Anthony Anderson and Babyface.
This marked the second Golden Globes ceremony since its longtime backer, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, was replaced following the acquisition of all the HFPA’s assets, rights and properties by Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge. Instead of the HFPA, a racially and ethnically diverse group of voters — made up of journalists representing countries from around the world — selects the nominees and winners. (Dick Clark Productions now owns and produces the Golden Globe Awards. DCP is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge that also owns The Hollywood Reporter.)
The 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards aired live from The Beverly Hilton on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. Emmy-winning producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner were showrunners for a second consecutive year.
